And if you’re more the type to stay in and listen to music, here’s a playlist of best April singlesbest May singles and 10 Songs You Need to Hear Right Now.

6/18: Black Lips

They called in Sean Lennon of Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger (and John Lennon’s loins) to handle the production on “Satan’s Graffiti or God’s Art?” and the resulting moments of cacophony definitely sound more like Satan’s Graffiti than God’s Art. And the chaos suits their particular strain of garage-rock. They’re eight albums in and as trashy as ever. Getting back to Lennon, though, among the album’s unexpected pleasures is the charming mess they make of Papa Lennon’s Beatles gem “It Won’t Be Long.”

Details: 8:30 p.m. Sunday, June 18. Crescent Ballroom, 308 N. Second Ave., Phoenix. $22; $20 in advance. 602-716-2222, crescentphx.com.

6/20: Girlpool

“Before the World Was Big” is the perfect title for an unassuming twee-pop masterpiece that makes brilliant work of capturing the growing pains of youth and young adulthood. That’s what I wrote when Girlpool landed on my albums of the year list in 2015. By the time they get to Phoenix, they’ll have given us a long-awaited followup called “Powerplant.” And judging by the only song I’ve heard so far, a lead track titled “123,” they may have toughened up their sound a bit without abandoning the qualities that made that album such an unassuming masterpiece.

Details: 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 20.  Rebel Lounge, 2303 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. $14; $12 in advance. 602-296-7013, therebellounge.com.
